Sesame Street Party. I due anni di Cimpri!

Domenica è stata una giornatona di festa. Purtroppo c'è stato molto vento e la temperatura è scesa di 12 gradi quindi il io programma di fare la festa con gavettoni e giochi di acqua è andato a farsi benedire. Sono comunque riuscita un po' ad intrattenere i bambini tra regalini e giochi. Il problema era trovare un gioco adatto per bambini di 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11 anni. Eh..provate voi a trovare qualcosa da fare che vada bene a tutti!!
Comunque il tema era appunto Sesame Street che Cimpri ama alla follia. La cosa difficile era per me come al solito cercare di fare una cosa personalizzata senza comprare troppe cose omologate.

Per il resto ho seguito i colori primari che sono quelli del programma e ho preso e rivisitato idee prove un po' ovunque visto che questa festa a tema è molto gettonata qui negli States!
Non ci posso credere che Cimpri abbia già due anni...ti voglio bene piccoletta!

On Sunday we had Cimpri's big Sesame Street Party. Unfortunatly we had a lot of wind here in Vegas and it was cold too. Very strange for a day of end may here!! So all my programs about doing water games in the backyard were vanished. But at least I was able to manage all the kids and it wasn't easy while we had 2,4,5,6,7,8,11 year old kids and, trust me, to find a game that could possibly go with everyone was kind of a "mission impossible". Of course I try to make something special and not to simply buy all the stuff at Party City. 
I looked around the web and there's a lot of great Sesame Street Parties. I just used all the colors, bought tons of thing at the dollar store...and that's it.


I cannot believe my little one is two... I love you Cimpri!

I made her the dress (not so perfect, but I'm learning).//  Il vestitino l'ho fatto io e non è che sia un granchè ma sono i mie primi esperimenti da quando m ihanno regalato la macchina da cucire.

D'ora in poi non mancherà il pannello per la foto ricordo. Tutti erano contentissimi e sono andati a casa con una foto divertente! Il disegno l'ho fatto io e mia madre si è messa a colorarlo!

La mia pazza fangosa corsa

Settimane di fuoco.
E' arrivata mia madre e non abbiamo fatto altro che andare in giro, ovviamente.
L'ho portata nel mio negozio preferito dell'usato e abbiamo comprato un paio di cose da rimettere a posto insieme. Lei ha sempre fatto queste cose ed ha un gusto incredibile...in fondo da qualcuno dovevo pur aver preso?! Poi questa domenica ci sarà il compleanno di Cimpri (Miiiii! Già due anni!!) e giorno e notte sono stati occupati dall'organizzazione. Il tema è Sesame Street (forse il programma c'è anche in Italia e sarebbero i pupazzi della stessa famiglia dei Muppet), Elmo e Cookie Monster sono i preferiti di Cimpri e quindi le sto facendo di tutto...vedrete...

Il weekend scorso poi mi sono cimentata in una maratona assurda e divertentissima. Si chiama Mad Mud Run (più o meno tradotta in Pazza Fangosa Maratona). Si tratta di 4 miglia da correre in gruppo (o da soli) con opzione di travestimento vario. Insomma più eri conciata, meglio era.
Mi ha coinvolto un'amica, mamma della scuola che ha tirato in mezzo altre mamme.
Il nostro gruppo si chiamava ovviamente Super Hot Moms ed eravamo vestite stile supereroine anni settanta. Delle cretine insomma...

Nel percorso c'erano degli ostacoli del tipo balle di fieno da superare, muri da scavalcare e gettate di acqua da oltrepassare...ma non era niente di incredibilmente difficile anzi molto fattibile. E non abbiamo quasi mai corso e fatto molto le cretine.
L'ultimo tratto prima del traguardo poi consisteva nel superare una pozza di fango. Non so come ho fatto.

Beh mi sono divertita come una matta. Anche se al traguardo avevo SuperT in lacrime disperato che urlava "Nooooo la mamma si sporca tuttaaaaaa" mentre Cimpri cercava di schizzarmi con una pistola da acqua.

I've had two very very busy weeks. My mom arrived from Italy and we went everywhere. I brought her also at Salvation Army where we got some good deals and she's very good in restyling e refurisch and I0m happy to do some projects with her. I for sure have her same passion!
Then this sunday my daughter will be two and I'm spending all my free time to organize her Sesame Street Party. Of course she loves Elmo and Cookie Monster so I'm trying to get her a very fun and colorful party! I will post all the crafts I'm doing.


At least last saturday I participate at the Mad Mud Run. It was awsome! I raced as a group with other moms and we were the Super Hot Moms and were dressed kinda super hero seventis moms. So stupid and so funny!
There were some obstacles but the very last was this mud pund where to crawl and I jumped while hearing my boy crying "Mommy is getting dirty".
It was fun. Here some pictures...enjoy!

Changing Table 2 opt. / Fasciatoio 2 la vendetta

Cimpri fra poco compirà 2 anni e stiamo iniziando con un blando spannolinamento. Sicuramente comunque il fasciatoio non è più utilizzabile, soprattutto per il peso ma anche perchè la bestia si dimena come una matta quando è ora di cambiarla e quindi meglio evitare posti troppo alti...


Cimpri, my little girl, is almost two and we're now beginning with the potty training. Our changing table is now useless, most because she is too heavy for that and also because she moves like crazy when it's time to change her. So it is better not to risk..


E allora anche il secondo fasciatoio (inizialmente ne avevamo preso uno per il piano di sopra e uno per sotto) di Ikea (Sniglar) è stato trasformato e riciclato.


Therefore our second Ikea (Sniglar) changing table (we bought one for upstairs and one for downstairs) has been transformed e recycled in a brand new toy.

Il primo era diventato una cucina per bambini. E' ancora il gioco preferito dei bambini. Ora soprattutto di Cimpri.
The first one has been transformed in a toy kitchen. It is actually the favorite toy of the kids and now for sure more for my girl.

Il secondo invece è stato trasformato, dopo mille ripensamenti (avevo un sacco di idee ma troppo complicate), in un banco da lavoro. Per entrambi, visto che mia figlia è più un manovale che una signorina.
Come avevo fatto anche con la cucina, ho prima segato un po' le gambe. Poi ho utilizzato pittura a spray (l'arancione l'ha scelto Cimpri..io ero per un rosso, ma capa tosta è!).
Ho comprato la tavola dietro con tutti i bichini (come si chiama???) in uno di quei negozi tipo Brico Center (6 dollari) e l'ho fissata con un paio di chiodi e della colla al retro. Poi ho comprato gli accessori per la parete (i ganci e i contenitori). Ho preso sempre in questo negozio un pezzo di legno di scarto che di solito svendono (59 centesimi) e l'ho incollato e fissato con due viti sopra alla parete. Il pezzo di legno a dire la verità è un po' pesante e quindi la parete viene un po' in avanti. Mi sa che dovrò fissare il tutto alla parete o trovare un'altra soluzione.
Il pezzo di legno l'ho dipinto con il residio di pittura arancione e poi ho disegnato a mano con bianco acrilico la scritta.
I giochini della Black&Decker li ho comprati in saldo a 10 dollari.
Et voilà!
The second one has been transformed, after a lot of thinking, in a "workshop" for both the kids (that's why "T&G"). And for sure also my not-so-girly-girl will love to make noise with all the accessories! As  for the kitchen, I first cut a piece from the legs of the changing table. Then I used spray paint (2,69 $). Cimpri chose the color orange. She's only 2 but she knows what she wants!
After that I bought a pegboard at Home Depot (6 $ and something) and some accessories (hooks and shelves 13 $). The shelves were a little bit expensive but I really liked them a lot. I found the 24 pieces box of Black&Decker at Ross for 10 dollars. (So total: about 30 $)
Et voilà!

Las Vegas Wedding

E' quasi passato un anno da quando abbiamo deciso di sposarci qui a Las Vegas. E' stata la cosa più divertente in assoluto. Tral'altro è costato poco, pochissimo, eravamo solo noi con i bambini, nessun parente ecc ecc. è stato veloce e per niente stressante ed è valido a tutti gli effetti.
Pertanto ho deciso di raccogliere alcune informazioni per tutti quelli che vorrebbe fare questa follia.

Last year, after 10 years together, we decided to get marry here in Vegas. It was the most amazing and fun day of my entire life. We didn't spent a lot of money, we were alone with our kids and not all the hundreds of family and friends and without stress. It is legal and with some more documents valid in Italy. So here some informations for those who are interested in doing this crazyness!

Sono una grande fan del blog Tempo di Cottura. Io adoro quella donna e le sue ricette!
Non sono una grandissima cuoca e se non fosse per il bimby non mi ci metterei per niente credo. Ma devo dire che le ricette che ho trovato sul suo sito mi hanno sempre affascinato e mi ci sono messa d'impegno più di una volta. Ho anche già il libro pronto a Milano che mi aspetta. Non vedo l'ora...
Un mio cavallo di battaglia è la torta che io ho ribatezzato arcobaleno.
Faaaacile faaaaacile, buooooona buooooona e BELLA!!! Ai bambini fa impazzire, soprattutto in fase di preparazione.

I'm a big fan of the blog Tempo di cottura. I love that woman and hers recipes!
I'm not a big cooker and for the most things I cook I have to thank my food processor Bimby. But I have to say that on this website I found so many fantastic recipes and I tried really hard.
One of my favorite is the Rainbow Cake, as I call it. It is sooooo simple, soooooo good and sooooo gorgeous! The kids love it especially when I have to prepare it.
